Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

In September of 2019 TrueTandem was awarded a contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through their Commercial Solutions Opening Pilot Program (CSOP), called Artificial Intelligence (AI) For Past Performance Prototypes & Pilots Acquisition.  The contract supported the DHS Procurement Innovation Lab (PIL) using cutting edge AI/RPA tools and other technologies to help derive more meaning from the data inside the Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS). CPARS data is often inconsistent, providing too much or too little information, and is challenging to use when supporting award decisions. TrueTandem developed and delivered a pilot system that helped COs/CORs connect Statements of Work with relevant CPARS ratings, so they can more easily assess the contractor’s past performance on similar contracts. Leveraging AI, TrueTandem also devised a confidence scoring algorithm to provide unique insights into the contractor’s scoring history, along with other robust reporting and dashboard abilities.  TrueTandem’s AI Pilot for DHS leveraged Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services, RPA from the NCI Shai® platform, as well as other key services.
